STYLES OF MUAY BORAN

Muay Chaiya - Southern Thailand (Chaiya)

Low, grounded stance (“Tiger Dragging Its Tail” or Seua Lak Hang), tight elbow and knee defense, effective against heavier fighters, heavy reliance on the Yang Samkum (three-point step).

Muay Korat - Northeastern Thailand (Nakhon Ratchasima)

Hard style (Muay Lak), powerful wide and straight punches (Wiang Kwai), neck-breaking roundhouse kicks (Tae Ko Hak), and tiger-step footwork (Seua Yang).

Muay Lopburi - Central Thailand (Lopburi)

Known for speed, high agility, sharp footwork, and quick counter-attacks.

Muay Thasao -Northern Thailand

More erect posture, defensive versatility, and rapid transitions.

Muay Lert Rit - Modern Military / Traditional Hybrid

Close-quarters combat system focused on swift neutralization, vital-point strikes, and bone-breaking mechanics.
